Skilled Construction Labourer / Carpenter Helper
About Hollyhock Construction
Hollyhock Construction is a COR-certified residential construction company specializing in ICF construction, concrete forming, and carpentry. Our work includes residential builds, foundations, framing, general carpentry, and occasional small commercial renovations.
We are looking for a reliable, hands-on worker with construction experience who wants steady full-time work and continued skill development.
Position Details
- Job Title: Skilled Construction Labourer / Carpenter Helper
- Position Type: Full-time, permanent
- Wage: $24.00–$29.00 per hour, based on relevant construction experience, tool ability, reliability, and demonstrated hands-on skill.
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day / 40 hours per week
- Overtime: Occasional overtime may be requested based on project needs and will be paid at the applicable overtime rate.

Responsibilities
- Assist with ICF foundation and wall construction
- Support concrete forming, stripping, prep work, pours, and cleanup
- Assist with rough carpentry, framing, blocking, backing, and general building tasks
- Measure, cut, carry, assemble, and install construction materials
- Use common hand tools, power tools, and basic construction equipment safely
- Load, unload, move, and organize materials on site
- Follow drawings, measurements, site instructions, and supervisor direction
- Keep job sites clean, organized, and safe
- Follow company safety policies and Safe Job Procedures
Requirements
- Previous hands-on construction experience required
- Experience using common hand tools and power tools required
- Experience with concrete work, carpentry support, framing, renovations, ICF, or residential construction is an asset
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence required
- Reliable personal vehicle / transportation to job sites is mandatory
- Must be able to communicate clearly in English for safety instructions, task direction, and daily jobsite coordination
- Physically capable of outdoor construction work, including lifting, carrying, bending, kneeling, and working in changing weather
- Basic PPE required: hardhat, steel-toe boots, safety glasses, and appropriate work clothing
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
